Intel: The operating system for the edge of network

September 22, 2016 // By Intel
Intel argues for more intelligence at the edge of the network and the use of Ubuntu Core as an open-source operating system that runs on its processors. Extending intelligence to the things that produce and act on IoT data, edge computing solves the collection, storage, latency and resiliency issues of relying on the cloud. With the right operating system (OS), applications, device intelligence and storage, virtually any connected device can be an edge node.
