Future Horizons hosts post-Brexit industry forecast meeting

August 23, 2016 // By Peter Clarke
Market analysis firm Future Horizons Ltd., led by Malcom Penn, will hold its mid-year industry analysis and forecast briefing on Tuesday Sept. 20th 2016. It takes place at the Holiday Inn – Kensington Forum in London.

This will be the first Future Horizons forecast meeting since the Brexit referendum that saw the UK vote to leave the European Union. The UK is a relatively small player in the electronics and semiconductor industries, which are essentially global. However, the Brexit vote could be significant in that it could introduce inefficiencies within general European trade over the next several years, suppress global economic optimism and reduce global economic activity. The ubiquity of electronics is such that activity in that sector is now significantly dependent on global GDP.

Future Horizons will provide an assessment of the global economic environment interpret what is expected to happen in the semiconductor industry in the next six to twelve months and beyond. The firm will also identify key application markets and their contribution to the semiconductor market as well as highlighting potential new killer applications.

The one-day event concludes with an open Q&A session in which Malcolm Penn will lead a discussion prompted by questions from the floor.
