November 12, 2016 // By Peter Clarke
Some 18 months after the start of a collaboration, InvenSense Inc. (San Jose, Calif.) and Sonion A/S (Roskilde, Denmark) have launched the O-series of MEMS microphones.

These are intended to be low-noise, low-power miniature microphones for use in hearing aid applications. A family of four MEMS microphones come in two small form factors; the 08 at 8.2 cubic millimeters and the 11 at 10.8 cubic millimeters. The units work with a supply voltage of 0.9V.

The O-series, which will begin to ship in volume in January 2017.
