The controllers generate an adjustable output voltage of at least 0.8V at input voltages between 4.5V and 60V. This makes them suitable for a wide range of applications, including computers, consumer electronics, telecommunications and industry. In the normal operating temperature range of -40°C to +125°C they guarantee an output voltage accuracy of +/-1%.
The SiC46X architecture offers ultra-fast transmission with minimal output capacitance and narrow ripple regulation at very low load. The device is compatible with any capacitor and no external ESR network is required for loop stability. An energy-saving concept significantly increases efficiency at low load.
Controller protection mechanisms include overcurrent protection, output overvoltage protection, short-circuit protection, output undervoltage protection and thermal shutdown. They also have UVLO for the input rail and a programmable soft start.
Developers can choose between three operating modes: forced continuous line, energy saving or ultrasound. With an adjustable switching frequency between 100kHz and 2 MHz and an adjustable current limit, the SiC46X family is highly configurable.
