Since their power circuits can be configured just by adding ceramic capacitors to their external components, the products in this series can contribute to reducing PCB area space requirements as well as development work time. The use of built‐in inductors also allows PCB layouts to be simplified, minimizing unwanted radiation noise and operational trouble. The input voltage can be selected from 0.65V (operation hold voltage) to 6.0V, and the output voltage from 2.2V to 5.5V (±2.0% precision), both using steps of 0.1V. With an oscillation frequency of 3.0MHz, the control system is selectable from between PWM control (XCL102) or PWM/PFM automatic switching control (XCL103). The XCL102/XCL103 series outputs 500mA (from a 0.8A input current). An operation start voltage of 0.9V and an operation hold voltage of 0.65V enable them to be used for applications driven by a single‐battery power supply. Other functions include soft‐start, load disconnection, CL auto discharge, and bypass switch functions, all of which are built‐in.
