“MetroStrand is specifically designed to take full advantage of existing multiple system operator (MSO) assets,” explained Mike Nasco, Wazco’s CEO. “MetroStrand is specifically designed to be deployed in less than an hour, allowing rapid, straightforward, cost-effective, and scalable network augmentation. In addition, MetroStrand is powered by eSON™, the advanced RAN management software by AirHop Communications, facilitating seamless integration with MetroStorm clusters.”
“Lindsay’s Optical Gateway platform eliminates the need for expensive outdoor cabinets and provides Wazco’s Metrostrand outdoor hardened access to the MSOs infrastructure for optical backhaul.’” added David Atman, Lindsay Broadband’s president. “Our FLEeX LM™ Architecture is an ideal fit for MetroStrand and has a wide variety of deployment options and configurations.”
Wazco MetroStrand is a "single sector," 700 MHz strand-mounted base station which is functionally equivalent to one of the 4 sectors of the Wazco MetroStorm metrocell announced last month at the LTE World Summit in Amsterdam.
