1200×1200dpi inkjet printhead is also world’s fastest at 80m/min print speed
The KJ4B-Z Series inkjet printhead achieves higher drive frequency thanks to an improved signal waveform that controls the piezo actuator which controls ink ejection and also thanks to an improved ink flow channel structure. The KJ4B-Z Series features a high-density arrangement of piezo actuators and ink nozzles through Kyocera’s proprietary design. What’s more, unit features an effective print width of 108mm, the world’s largest according to the manufacturer, requiring fewer printheads even for wide-format printing. The inkjet printhead is aimed at applications such as on-demand commercial printing where it could help printers to reduce their costs and shorten their delivery time. At a print speed of 80m/min, the 1200×1200dpi resolution printhead is capable of ejecting up to 64,000 drops of ink per second (at 64kHz drive frequency) from each ink nozzle, resulting in approximately 330 million drops per second from a head with 5,120 nozzles.
