The PV15/PV40-29Bxx modules from Mornsun have an ultra-wide input voltage that suits the photovoltaic industry where 1500 Vdc systems are replacing standard 1000 Vdc systems. Higher voltage systems enable longer strings, which reduces connection boxes, needs less wiring and reduces labour costs.
Most photovoltaic systems are installed in harsh environments and in high altitude fields, so the PV15/PV40-29Bxx are designed to meet the application requirement to ensure the systems reliability and safety and can be used at altitudes up to 5000m.
A PV system converts the sun’s radiation into usable electricity and also powers itself. The sunlight intensity of course is variable and this means the voltage to the control system also varies and may lead to frequent system restarts. The PV15/PV40-29Bxx series has 4000 Vac isolation voltage and input under-voltage protection to protect the rest of the system from frequent restarts, as well as a wide input voltage range from 200 to 1500 Vdc and an industrial grade operating temperature of -40° to +70°C.
