16-bit current measuring module for automotive, industrial applications
The shunt-based ICD-A system has a sealed six-pole MCON connector, which is commonly used in the automotive industry. It protects the signal and power transmission from external influences. With transmission rates of up to 1 Mbit/sec, the connection provides digitised data in CAN bus 2.0 format, and ensures a high level of measurement precision. The microcontroller used for digitisation includes, among other features, an AC/DC converter, temperature measurement and voltage regulation. This solution also stands out from the crowd thanks to its ultra-low energy consumption, which the sensor can also measure and supply independently – an advantage that is particularly important in the area of e-mobility. The ICD-A is available in three variations with different current levels: 100A, 300A and 500A. All models have the same dimensions.
Alongside the automotive solution, Isabellenhütte also offers a version of the measurement technology system for industry in the form of the ICD-C model. Both ICD-A and ICD-C have a compact design. This makes them particularly suited to applications where space is tight in terms of assembly, because they are more than 50% smaller than comparable products. Galvanic isolation has not been included as typical appplications always have their own built-in galvanic isolation. This makes the ICD series one of the most compact product series in the ISAscale range.
