Compact 200W medical grade GaN FET power adapter
TRUMPower has launched a 200W power adapter series based on gallium nitride (GaN) transistors for medical home healthcare applications.
The TGM200 has a high power density of 11.1W/in3 and a typical efficiency of 95%. The 2 X MOPP makes it suitable in applications that involve close contact with patients.
The adapter meets the latest global energy efficiency standards for external supplies with compliance to DoE Level VI, while offering a no-load power consumption of 150mW typical. Class II models meet IP42 and class I models meet IP40 for ingress protection.
The TGM200 power adapter comes in a slim 6.56” (L) x 2.13” (W) x 1.30” (H) profile. Class I models are available with either an IEC 320/C6 or IEC 320/C14 AC inlets and class II models available with an IEC 320/C8 AC inlet. The power supply has 5 standard single output voltages between 12 to 48 VDC and operates with a universal input range of 100 to 240 VAC. The operating temperature for the power supply is between -20°C to +40°C ambient and derates linearly from 100% load at +40°C to 50% load at +60°C. The operating altitude for the power supply is 5,000 meters maximum. The TGM200 units have an MTBF of 300,000 hours minimum MTBF at 25°C ambient, calculated per Telcordia SR-332.
The TGM200 series has approval from UL, cUL, TUV, PSE, CE, and CB to the latest medical standards, including IEC/EN/UL 60601-1 (Edition 3.1), ANSI/AAMI ES 60601-1 (Edition 3.1), and IEC/EN 60601-1-11 home healthcare approvals (for class II models).
The adapter complies with EMC and immunity standards including IEC/EN 61000-1-2 (4th Edition), EN 55011,EN 55022, FCC, VCCI class B (conducted and radiated emissions), EN 61000-3-2, EN 61000-3-3, EN 61000-4-2, EN 61000-4-3, EN 61000-4-4, EN 61000-4-5, EN 61000-4-6, EN 61000-4-8, EN 61000-4-11. It also has compliance to RoHS, ErP Stage 2, DOE level VI, CoC Tier 2, NRCan & GEMS level VI.
