A fully potted and metal-cased construction suits the AXA series to harsh environments and enables the modules to operate between minus 40 and plus 85 degrees Celsius. An optional clip-on heat sink is available to extend the thermal performance of the unit in a convection or forced-air environment.
The modules cover a 4:1 input voltage range of 9 to 36 Vdc or 18 to 75 Vdc. The first models available offer single output models with voltages of 3.3, 5, 12, 15 and 24V along with dual output models offering ±12 or 15V, all with tight output voltage regulation. Enclosed in a 1.0 x 1.0 x 0.4 inch (25.4 x 25.4 x 10.16 mm) package, the Artesyn AXA series runs at up to 89% efficiency. The converters offer additional features such as overload protection, remote on/off control, input-to-output isolation voltage of 1500 Vdc, and output voltage that can be trimmed by ±10% of the nominal output. All models are approved to CSA/NTRL/IEC/EN 60950-1 for IT equipment.
