2M Automation wins IoT support from Schneider
The pack comprises a bundle of entry-level IIoT enabled devices and a day’s training and consultancy with Schneider Electric. This will allow 2M Automation to try Schneider Electric’s approach to IIoT energy management and automation at low cost.
The pack was provided as the prize draw of a competition that ran at Smart Factory Expo in Novermber 2016
The starter pack includes LCD screens and biometric switches based on fingerprint recognition, wireless and battery-less pushbuttons and limit switches, three-phase energy meters, variable speed drives for various machines, Modicon logic controllers and SoMachine software environment to tie it all together.
Following an initial meeting with Schneider Electric to discuss implementation, 2M Automation is now setting up a training session to test all of the starter pack kit and ascertain what the potential for the business might be.
“We are excited to use the technology in high-speed pick and place applications in particular, as well as to learn more about Schneider Electric’s Delta robot, said Mulemba Kandeke, a co-founder and lead engineer at 2M Automation, in a statement issued by Schneider Electric.
