3D printed PCBs for aerospace, defense
Subsidiary company Nano Dimension Technologies Ltd., has received a budget of NIS1.4 million (about $372,000) from the MEIMAD committee of the Israel Innovation Authority. The Israel Innovation Authority will provide half the finance and the terms of the grant are that Nano Dimension will pay royalties back on future sales up to full grant amount.
Ceramic substrates and thick film circuits with ceramic insulation are a fundamental part of aerospace, aviation and military electronics because of their high mechanical strength and thermal resistance properties.
Nano Dimension’s 3D printing technology could speed up manufacturing for such circuits while easing design and the integration of materials.
MEIMAD is a joint venture of the Innovation Authority, Ministry of Finance and the Administration for the Development of Weapons and Technological Infrastructure of the Israeli Ministry of Defense. The goal of the program is to promote military, defense, and commercial R&D of dual use technologies, which will contribute to national security, while possessing financial potential.
