AMETEK Abaco Systems has developed a 3U VPX single-board computer (SBC) with the Nvidia’s Jetson AGX Orin GPU.

The AGX Orin on the Abaco SBC3901 VPX SBC has 12 ARM Cortex-A78 CPU cores paired with an Nvidia Ampere architecture GPU with 2048 CUDA cores and 64 Tensor Cores, enabling up to 248 TOPS of AI performance.

The SBC3901is designed to provide processing for autonomous and embedded edge computing systems by tapping into the Nvidia software frameworks for real-time GPU processing, deep learning, and AI inferencing.

The board integrates two Nvidia v2 deep learning accelerators, PVA v2 vision accelerators, NVENC video encoder, and NVDEC video decoder for comprehensive AI processing capabilities. It also has 100GbE and 25GbE data planes and one 10GbE control plane for high-speed data transfer. I/O and storage includes 64 GB of DRAM, 64 GB of eMMC internal storage, and optional 2 TB NVMe storage.

The VPX SBC is aligned with the SOSA open sensor architecture with a slot profile specifically designed for compute-intensive applications and is built to meet MIL-STD-810 standards to withstand extreme conditions, making it suitable for a range of defense, aerospace, and industrial applications.
