£4m competition for UK smart city pilots
The UK government is launching a £4 million pilot competition for digital asset management in wireless communication networks.
The Digital Connectivity Infrastructure Accelerator pilot competition will test the latest innovations in digital asset management platforms to help local councils accelerate roll-out of advanced network infrastructure. This is a key part of public networks in the Internet of Things to create smart cities.
DCMS will be looking to Regions and their Local Authorities to partner with telecommunication infrastructure providers and work together with a Digital Asset Management Platform supplier. Together, these partners will be expected to collectively deliver a pilot which explores the benefits, resources needed and ways of working between them to use a Digital Asset Management Platform effectively.
The pilot competition will fund up to 8 pilots, with a maximum of £500k funding per pilot with the deadline for submissions by 18th November. A webinar is being held on 15th September.
