Mitsubishi Electric is launching a low-cost 600V half-bridge driver for low capacity inverter systems in white goods, electric bikes and industrial equipment.

The M81776FP has a breakdown voltage of 600V on the high-side and 24V on the low-side, with a low-side circuit current of 0.5mA and a high-side circuit current of 0.2mA.

Drivers are in increasing demand for use in motor control systems that help to save energy and improve the performance of consumer products and industrial equipment. Mitsubishi Electric HVICs combine highly reliability, cost effectiveness and compact designs.

The chip has higher noise resistance by using embedded layer to suppress latch-up faults during switching. This low-resistance diffusion layer is directly under the switching element to reduce impedance.

Optimized floating circuits improve signal transmission accuracy in high-side circuits, and there are under-voltage lockouts on both high side and low side, while an input interlock prevents simultaneous turn-on of high side and low side.

The inverter driver is compatible with the existing M81736FP product for replacements in an 8-pin small outline package with the same pin layout and electrical properties. The junction-case thermal resistance of the package is 50ºC/W.

Sales will begin on October 18, 2019.
