How will the latest generation IBM LinuxONE Emperor 5 mainframe get you on that desired growth path?
It will need top of the bill Cyber Security features, it will need to be optimised for energy (and cost) savings and have a build in AI accelerator. It looks like the new LinuxONE Emperor 5 ticks all the boxes.
The new system comes with an impressive list of specifications. It is powered by the IBM Telum II processor with its multiple on-chip AI accelerators and includes confidential containers, high availability and AI inferencing on co-located data. The Telum II processor operates at 5.5 GHz and works with a max memory of 64 TB.
The LinuxONE is ready to operate under Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES) and Canonical Ubuntu Server. Based on their own performance testing IBM claims the system is capable of 35 billion encrypted requests per day.
