
ABB, Microsoft form electric vehicle charging alliance
Under the collaboration, all ABB chargers will be connected to the Microsoft Azure cloud and offer additional services, allowing operators and manufacturers and partners to make money on more than just the sale of electricity, ABB said The system will use machine learning and prediction to drive innovation, ABB added.
There are currently only 106,000 publicly accessible EV charging stations globally. However revenue from EV charging is expected to grow from $152.6 million in 2015 to $2.9 billion in 2023, said ABB referencing a market analysis firm called Navigant Research
