The jubilee shipment went to Taiwanese test house Ardentec, a company focusing on memory, logic and mixed-signal ICs. At six sites around the world, Ardentec serves major semiconductor companies – among others, Texas Instruments.

The milestone test platform has been equipped with an ultra-compact A-Class test head and is part of a multiple-unit order that gives Ardentec a significant increase in V93000 capacity to perform wafer sorting during IC test runs. Advantest claims that the V93000 test platform is the most cost-efficient test solution for all types of advanced chip designs including RF, mixed signal, analog and power devices. The platform is scalable to address a broad range of test methodologies and quality requirements. In addition, this scalability gives the platform a long usable lifetime.

These features apparently also have intrigued IC design company Shanghai Haier IC. The company who develops microcontrollers, embedded memories and RF connectivity semiconductors these days ordered its first V93000 from Advantest and plans to use it in embedded Flash, RF microcontroller and digital probe testing for all products on its technology roadmap. Most of these products rely on embedded Flash memory for applications such as smart grid, smart home, Internet of Things and industrial controls.
