Aldo Kamper takes over as CEO of AMS-Osram
Aldo Kamper, former CEO of struggling automotive cable-harness maker Leoni AG, has joined AMS-Osram as CEO replacing Alexander Everke.
Kamper is now both CEO and chairman of the management board as previously announced by the AMS-Osram supervisory board on January 30, 2023 (see Leoni CEO throws in the towel, resurfaces at AMS-Osram). Kamper has also been appointed CEO of AMS-Osram subsidiary Osram Licht AG.
Kamper is a 30-year veteran of the semiconductor industry and a seasoned CEO. Kamper started his career at Osram and rose to the position of CEO of the Opto Semiconductors business unit.
During his career with Osram Kamper pioneered the development of microLED technology and application-specific LEDs for horticulture. His return to AMS-Osram is timely with the company embarking on microLED mass production for Apple.
“We are at the forefront of development in optical semiconductor technology, including the industrialization of our leading microLED technology. I believe that we have exceptional potential to deliver new, additional value to our customers,” said Kamper in a statement.
