The HSHCAL Series comprises capacitive digital humidity sensors in a package measuring 2mm by 2mm by 1mm high. The HSPPAD pressure sensor range comes in a slightly larger package measuring 2.5mm by 2.5mm by 0.8mm. Mass production of both families began in April 2014.
In the humidity sensor range Alps has redesigned the digital ASIC element to reduce the package size. As with the established analog HSHCA Series product, the HSHCAL Series employs proprietary sensing film for the sensor part. In addition, an original sensor configuration enables temperature compensation within the sensor device.
The HSPPAD pressure sensor range is a digital-output series based on the analog HSPPA Series and also has a built-in temperature compensation function. The sensor has a wide measurement range of 300 to 1,100hPa.
