Amantys Ltd. (Cambridge, England) has announced it has been able to sell all of its assets and intellectual property to electrical power regulation company Maschinenfabrik Reinhausen GmbH (Regensburg, Germany). While most of the 40 or so employees of Amantys have moved on there is now hope that many jobs may be created under the new ownership.
Maschinenfabrik Reinhausen (MR) is working together with former members of the Amantys team and Amantys said MR intends to set up a legal entity in the UK as a wholly owned subsidiary to continue with the work that Amantys was doing.
MR is active in power engineering and consists of 30 subsidiaries and affiliated companies globally. MR products regulate half of the electrical power consumed globally the company claims. In the past financial year, 2,900 employees produced a turnover of over €650 million (about $730 million).
On its website Amantys said: "Our priority is to re-establish the operating business of Amantys to continue to supply premium gate driver products to customers. The team will also progress the technology development in the field of IGBT drivers."
Amantys will be exhibiting at the PCIM exhibition due to take place in Nuremberg, May 19 to 21.
