Amplifier IC delivers 1A and fast slew rate
Manufactured in a high voltage extra fast complementary bipolar (XFCB) process, the architecture of the ADA4870 enables high output power, high speed signal processing solutions in applications that require driving a low impedance load, such as driving high voltage power FETs, piezo transducers, PIN diodes, CCD panels, and a variety of other demanding applications that require high speed from high supply voltage at high output current.
The ADA4870 is available in a power SOIC package (PSOP_3), featuring an exposed thermal slug that provides high thermal conductivity, enabling efficient heat transfer for improved performance and reliability. The ADA4870 operates over the industrial temperature range (−40°C to +85°C).
Applications include; envelope tracking; power FET driver; ultrasound; waveform generation; automated test equipment (ATE); and composite amplifiers. Able to drive high capacitive or low resistive loads, it has a supply range of 10 to 40V, with output voltage swing of 37V at 40V supply. Noise is 2.1 nV/√Hz, bandwidth 52 MHz large signal, 70 MHz small signal; quiescent current is: 32.5 mA (power down: 0.75 mA); and it has short-circuit protection with flag, with a 1.2A current limit and thermal protection.
