AMS Technologies opens thermal design centre in Poland
The new centre is in line with the strategy of being the ‘customer’s workbench’ by providing custom thermal management solutions.
While “value-add” distribution is taking over design-in, systems integration or even the development of entire design projects, in the thermal management sector, however, most customers develop their own solutions to specific challenges, with a lot of “trial and error”. AMS Technologies is pioneering a new approach with the design centre in Krakow specializing in design and “proof of concept” as well as supporting the transfer of the resulting prototype into volume production after customer sign-off.
“In the Krakow area you have a large pool of very well educated engineers, and we especially benefit from a distinct know-how in thermal management and electronics design,” said Jan Meise, CEO of AMS Technologies. In order to develop the customer-specific solutions, the Krakow design team will mainly combine components from the AMS Technologies linecard to deliver entire systems that meet the customer’s specifications.
“You simply won’t find those solutions as off-the-shelf solutions on the market,” said Meise, “but AMS Technologies turns them into reality, to the customer’s order and in any desired extent – from a pure design effort all the way to serial production.”
Customers are supported from a network of local offices in Germany, the UK, France, Italy, Spain, Poland and Sweden, with an operations and logistics centre in Munich.
