Analog Devices appoints AI-savvy research exec as CTO
Analog Devices Inc. (Wilmington, Mass.) has appointed Alan Lee, a senior research executive with expertise in AI who was previously at AMD, to the role of chief technology officer.
Lee replaces ADI’s former CTO, Dan Leibholz, who now serves as ADI’s senior vice president responsible for the digital business unit.
At AMD Lee’s teams developed hardware, software, artificial intelligence, and high-performance computing technologies. Prior to that Lee was CEO of a privately-held company that developed technologies for high-frequency trading and quantitative financial analysis.
“Alan is a seasoned technology executive who will help accelerate our leadership at the intelligent edge by working to expand our next-generation analog, mixed signal, power, software, and artificial intelligence capabilities,” said Vincent Roche, CEO of ADI, in a statement.
Lee is the chair of the CTO committees of both the Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) and the Global Semiconductor Alliance (GSA). He has served on the board of directors for the Semiconductor Research Corp. and the board of trustees for the NSF Institute for Pure and Applied Mathematics.
