Analog Devices gets China’s blessing for Maxim takeover
The deal, first announced in July 2020 (see Analog Devices to pay $21 billion to take over Maxim) as an all stock deal, will help Analog Devices overtake Texas Instruments as the world’s largest analog chip company.
Analog Devices said the deal has now received all required regulatory clearances and is expected to close on August 26, 2021, subject to remaining customary closing conditions.
Renesas’ acquisition of Dialog Semiconductor plc is also expected to close soon and can be seen in the same light as various players seek to be consolidators rather than be consolidated.
