The launched forcing features enable operators to use devices equipped with Samsung’s chipset for advanced engineering tasks. The features include system lock for GSM, WCDMA, and LTE technologies, frequency band locking, and cell locking. With the locking features, specific cells or cellular layers can be targeted in test sequences, enabling more control in on-site testing and in automated test procedures.

“The forcing features are in high demand among our customers, and with these forcing features they can perform more cost-effective and accurate testing, troubleshooting, and optimization of the mobile networks – improving the network and the usability of mobile services,” said Kai Ojala, Vice President and CTO, Network Measurement Solutions at Anite Network Testing, and continues: “We are bringing the forcing features to our other measurement platforms and are expanding our portfolio of supported Shannon devices as well.”.

Nemo Handy is a handheld measurement tool running on Android phones. The tool is a smart solution for thorough measurements on the wireless air interface and mobile application quality-of-service/quality-of-experience QoS/QoE both indoors and outdoors.
