Email support will continue until June 30th, 2015."
The company, founded in 2003, took part in a number of augmented reality projects including a human-machine interface technology based on thermal imaging (see Metaio demos thermal touch interface for headset displays)
That technology was intended for use with head-mounted displays – such as Google Glass – and makes use of the fact that touching an object heats it up slightly and provides a thermal signature. When combined with overlaid information in the display this could allow everyday objects to become controls or for controls to be overlaid on surfaces.
