Apple hit by 2Q16 PC shipment decline
Worldwide PC shipments declined to 64.3 million units in 2Q16, down 5.2 percent from 2Q15. Partly this was due to strength of the dollar adversely affecting regions except North America. In North America PC shipments increased in 2Q16 and there is hope that the United States is leading the world into an PC enterprise replacement cycle

Asus, Apple and Acer are battling it out for the fourth position in worldwide PC shipments and Apple fared worst of the top six PC vendors with its shipments declining 4.9 percent which allowed Asus to climb above and push Apple down to fifth position.
“There is an opportunity for a Windows 10 refresh among businesses, which we expect to see more toward the end of 2016 to the beginning of 2017,” said Mikako Kitagawa, principal analyst at Gartner, in a statement.
