A posting in the LinkedIn CMOS/CCD image sensor discussion group described the Apple Watch and iPhone as "sensor-driven" products and is primarily seeking image sensor calibration and characterization engineers. The jobs are based in Cupertino, California.
Apple recently acquired LinX Computational Imaging Ltd. (Caesarea, Israel) for about $20 million.
However, the advert also says Apple is seeking to hire "thought leaders" in sensors. And it suggests that those who like the idea of designing the next big thing in sensors – including inertial and others – should get in touch with Apple recruiter Brendan Prouty.
