AR-75 tactical booster amplifier selected for USAF C-130 upgrade
The C-130 upgrades will employ the latest technologies to fulfill its primary mission to support our troops, serve as convoy escorts, and continue its role as the point of defense. The upgrades focus on the latest versions of the airframe by stepping up the communication capabilities and extending the communication range. A pair of AR-75 "Tactical Booster Amplifiers" is installed on each airframe.
This AR Modular RF amplifier is compact, lightweight, and exceeds the shock and vibration requirements even when direct mounted to the airframe. In hostile environments, where dependable mission-critical communications is essential, the AR-75 outperforms all expectations.
The Model AR-75HPS is a portable, lightweight, fully automatic band-switching RF booster amplifier for multi-band VHF/UHF tactical radio equipment employing legacy, proprietary and emerging waveforms. The amplifier covers the frequency band of 30 to 512 MHz using automatically switched filters to assure low harmonic distortion levels and is SINCGARS, HPW, HAVEQUICK and ECCM compatible.
The AR-75HPS is designed for operation from 18 to 36 V. The amplifier includes voltage spike suppression for vehicle applications, RF sensing, T/R switching, automatic level control (ALC), six automatically switched harmonic filter bands, and protection against antenna mismatch and over-temperature. Protection against accidental polarity reversal is provided.
The amplifier features a radio vendor independent design, 100 W output over 30 to 400 MHz, 75 W output over 400 to 512 MHz.single and is multi-band radio compatible with just an RF connection.
The amplifier is a complete independent system that offers full system operation with or without remote control. High speed filter switching in SINCGARS, HAVEQUICK and ECCM modes ensures compatible interference free operation across the whole frequency band to help prevent “friendly jamming” of nearby systems.
Other features include a 24 V system, filtered and transient protected to MIL-STD 1275, DAMA capable and water resistant.
