Prof. Dean will be at ARM Cambridge (UK) to give attendees in-depth experience of his materials and share some of his long experience teaching embedded systems, on 19th or 20th November 2013.

The intent of the training day is that attendees will be confident using the tools and the materials, and able to share this knowledge with their students. It’s a full day, with Lectures, hands-on exercises, and opportunities to network with Alex Dean and fellow Educators, along with experts from ARM and Freescale. Other speakers on the topic of, “Teaching Embedded System Design and Optimization with ARM Cortex-M0+ Microcontrollers” include Dr. Khaled Benkrid, ARM Worldwide University Programme Manager.

This hands-on workshop introduces a new set of academic teaching materials and a forthcoming textbook for Embedded Systems design courses and labs, including sections addressing undergraduate and graduate students. The $13 Freescale Kinetis Freedom platform is used, based on ARM’s Cortex M0+, the smallest and most power efficient CPU, with the ARM/Keil MDK-ARM software tools. The materials focus on programming the microcontroller and peripherals in C, and includes advanced topics such as optimising response time, execution speed, and power efficiency.

These Special University Workshops are open only to post-graduate members of academia, and are free-of-charge for all members of academia. Delegates will receive a copy of the training materials shown, a Freescale Freedom M0+ board, and full version of ARM-Keil MDK development software.

Registration is here.
