ARM refreshes senior management with EVP of operations, CMO
ARM Holdings plc has appointed Eric Hayes (above) as executive vice president of operations with immediate effect. The appointment of Hayes comes two months after that of Ami Badani as chief marketing officer (CMO).
Hayes is responsible for end-to-end execution of operational activities across multiple product with a focus on enabling growth across key markets.
His appointment comes as rumors circulate that CEO Rene Haas is considering changing ARM’s go to market strategy by starting to supply chips or chiplets rather being a licensor of chip designs.
Hayes was previously CEO at Fungible Inc. until it was acquired by Microsoft in 2023. Fungible specializing in data-centric computing offering the Data Processing Unit (DPU) to offload and accelerate data-intensive tasks from traditional CPUs.
Rene Haas, CEO of ARM, commented: “Aligning on the operational activities across products and solutions is critical as we continue to diversify our portfolio and meet the increasingly complex demands of AI.”
Prior to Fungible, Hayes was senior vice president and general manager at Inphi Corp. and he has also held senior leadership roles at Marvell Technology, Cavium and Broadcom.
Badani, appointed in November, was previously with Nvidia, where she was vice president of marketing and developer products. Her responsibilities included driving the data strategy for Generative AI, and leading product and technical marketing efforts for the data center portfolio.
