The company has in excess of 200 licensees for its Cortex M family and during the latest quarter (Q1/14), approximately 1 billion Cortex-M processors were shipped globally according to the company’s own figures.
The new location will allow ARM to work more closely with key regional partners. The new center is slated to open at the end of 2014 and is expected to create highly skilled microprocessor design opportunities for the technical community in the region.
ARM didn’t disclose the financial details of the new operation nor how much staff the new design center would be receiving.
