According to the report, the series named “infoverre See-through” is made by assembling an LCD display directly to a glass panel using the company’s adhesive resin, something in development since 2015.
For the infoverre See-Through panels, Asahi Glass increased the display’s light transmittance from 5% to 10%. Also, the company used a three-wavelength white LED as a light source to support vivid colours, installing light sources on the top and bottom sides of the LCD display.
The new panels are aimed at showcases in stores, museums and other venues, with standard models measuring 55 inches in diagonal. Other size may become available upon request as well as a touch panel function to transmit data through glass.
