Kulr in the US has signed a deal with US space agency NASA to screen lithium ion battery cells for crewed space missions.

The multi-phase agreement will use Kulr’s advanced automated battery test system to assess 10,000 LG Chem Lithium-Ion INR18650 M36T cells for NASA.

KulrR specializes in the evaluation of battery cells vital for crewed space missions. Increasing demand is also expanding Kulr’s technology to support larger 21700 cells, with functionality expected by the end of the current year. This enhancement will amplify the safety, dependability, and efficacy of cells for a broader array of mission-critical applications.

Kulr’s modular screening technology allows for easy scalability and is a key development in the strategic partnership between KULR and NASA, reinforcing KULR’s role as a crucial player in aerospace energy management and battery safety.

Earlier this month the company, which also produces materials for safer battery packs, withdrew a proposed underwritten public offering following significant fluctuations in its stock price.

“Kulr’s management felt strongly that it would not be in the best interest of the shareholders to proceed with an offering at this time,” said Michael Mo, CEO of Kulr.
