Automation manufactured LAN transformer available in a Gigabit version
The company replaced the wound toroid cores with SMD-solderable transformers and common choke elements to provide better electrical properties and enable the transformers to be suitable for fully automated manufacturing. The technique provides a lower attenuation in return loss and better signal yield. All members of the WE-LAN AQ series are specified for the industrial temperature range of -40 to +85°C and are compatible with normal LAN products. The series offers a low-height package of 4mm for the 10/100 Base-T variant and 4.25 mm for the 1000 Base-T variant.
The lateral half-vias in the package means that solder joints can be inspected in SMT production using AOI.
