Axelera, Arduino team for edge AI
Dutch AI chip startup Axelera is working with Arduino to combine its AI accelerator with an industrial controller module.
The collaboration will combine the Axelera Metis AI Platform with system on module devices from the Arduino Pro range to provide easy-to-use hardware and software.
The first result of the strategic partnership will combine Metis and the Portenta X8, running an offline pre-trained LLM (Phi-3) to power an AI-driven industrial monitoring system. This can process and analyze sensor data (temperature, humidity, air quality, CO2, etc.) from different locations and manufacturing machines, to identify trends and potential issues in real time.
