Brady Corporation has unveiled a new range of industrial barcode readers that set new standards for reliability and data accuracy, achieving a remarkable 99.995% reading accuracy through advanced scanning technologies and robust engineering.

These barcode readers are designed to streamline data capture, minimise errors, and integrate seamlessly with a wide range of industrial protocols, making them an attractive option for modern warehouses and smart manufacturing environments.

The new product line includes the V4500, V3200, and V2200 barcode readers, each designed to deliver high performance in challenging conditions. In rigorous testing, these readers demonstrated the ability to process barcodes on wrinkled or reflective surfaces moving at 15 centimetres per second, encountering only one error in every 2,000 scans. This reliability is powered by the proprietary CortexDecoder algorithm, developed by Code Corporation, which is renowned for its capability to read over 40 barcode symbologies quickly and accurately, even on damaged or distorted codes. The readers also feature patented dual-field optics, enabling precise scanning from various distances and angles.

For enhanced connectivity, the top-tier V4500 and mid-range V3200 models are compatible with the new V1400 industrial cradle developed by Brady. This cradle not only recharges the readers’ batteries—capable of supporting up to 100,000 scans on a single charge—but also facilitates data sharing via eight prominent industrial protocols, including Profinet, Ethernet/IP, ModBus TCP/IP, MQTT, OPC UA, Siemens S7 PLC, BacNet, and Allen-Bradley PCCC. This extensive compatibility ensures seamless integration into nearly any manufacturing or warehousing system.

The V4500 and V3200 barcode readers offer wireless connectivity via Bluetooth, providing a reliable range of up to 100 metres, while the V2200 is a wired solution with cable options extending up to 3 metres. All models boast impressive durability, withstanding drops from 2.4 metres, tumbles, shocks, and crushes of up to 113 kg, and are rated IP65 for water and dust resistance. They can capture 40 mm Code 128 barcodes from distances of up to 92 cm and tiny 10 mm Data Matrix codes from up to 17 cm.

The barcode readers can be programmed using JavaScript to focus on specific barcodes, support kit completion scenarios and prevent missed or misplaced parts. Visual and audible feedback can be configured to confirm when a complete set of items has been scanned, thereby further reducing errors. Brady’s has a specialised team available to assist with custom programming, ensuring these readers meet the unique needs of any operation.
