Base transceiver station connector for remote wireless radio
Amphenol has reduced the weight of this field-installable connector by 30% and added improved passive inter-modulation (PIM) performance. It addresses the need for higher current that is being driven by modern high-performance remote installations. This rugged, IP67 rated connector is UL 1977 certified, IEC 61984 and IEC 60950 certified and has an operating temperature of -55°C to +105°C. Its compact, energy-efficient and UL qualified to 26 A.
Ideal for use in cell towers, wireless radios and wireless networks, Amphe-OBTS maintains the legacy and performance of the company’s original BTS, which provided power from a wireless, mast-mounted base station to a remote radio head.
Amphe-OBTS is available in a standard 2-way 60 VDC power configuration, a 60 VDC 2-way reverse gender and a 3-way 400 VDC/250 VAC connector. Standard current for the two pole is 26 A per contact, whilst the three pole configuration supplies 16 A per contact.
This new connector has a zinc shell construction with tin/nickel plating, bayonet locking and 360° EMI shielding. It has plug with screw termination contacts for field installation and receptacle with crimp contacts.
