Battery Ventures buys German test specialist
Quantifoil, which supplies specialty carrier films for electron microscopy, will be merged with Sample Preparation Technologies (SPT) group and work with TTP Labtech in the UK, which was acquired by Battery in 2018.
Founded in 1999, Quantifoil is a leading supplier of carbon and gold carrier films to customers in the field of electron microscopy in commercial, academic and research markets. As part of the SPT platform, the company will have extra resources for growth through technology development, production capacity expansion and greater global market coverage.
“Quantifoil’s expertise is an excellent addition to TTP Labtech and further enhances SPT’s existing offering in the field of electron microscopy, especially in the exciting field of cryo-electron microscopy, where TTP Labtech recently introduced a complementary instrument platform,” said Bennett. “We are pleased to welcome Quantifoil to the global SPT family.”
