The new product family complements EnOcean’s existing solutions in the 868MHz, 902MHz and 928MHz frequency bands that are subject to varying regional regulations. Working on the 2.4GHz band enables manufacturers of solutions based on this band to integrate them into their existing product range and thus implement battery-free room-based radio control solutions. The uniform EnOcean form factors enables OEMs to develop various applications that make use of kinetic movement as the energy source. Examples are wall-mounted switches, contact sensors and manual controls.

The 2.4GHz product family includes the PZM 215ZE switch module, the PTM 535Z transmitter module and the PCM 515Z transceiver module.

EnOcean applies energy harvesting principles to its radio-based sensor solutions. The company’s unique feature are miniaturised energy converters that generate electric energy out of kinetic movements, light or temperature. This platform enables establishing batteryless applications for the Internet of Things; examples are light switches that are not wired to the mains.

EnOcean’s new product range is exhibited at the Light + Building trade fair currently taking place in Frankfurt/Main (Germany).
