Blockchain starter kit protects digital transactions

By eeNews Europe

The starter kit features five NFC smart cards based on Infineon’s security controller with blockchain crypto features for several blockchains. An open source android app for Ethereum and Smart contract examples is also provided. The NFC smart cards assist the integration of hardware-based security and help developers to quickly prototype the blockchain application. The security tokens – whether smart cards, dongles or solutions for mobile devices – allow the secure generation of unique public and private key pairs, authentication using PIN and the signage of data and digital transactions. User credentials are stored in the security controller and protected from remote attacks on software or the micro-architecture and from physical attacks in case the token is stolen or lost.

The starter kit is supported by Infineon’s Blockchain Security 2Go starter kit which will be available in Q1 2019.

Infineon and Xain will also collaborate to use the AURIX MCU with integrated Hardware Security Module to enable blockchain applications in automotive applications.
