Blockchain USB device for pilot, proof-of-concept projects
The Blocklet USB device can be used on any system with a USB port and is designed to interact with multiple blockchains natively. As a result, says the company, businesses can attach secure hardware to their existing IoT machines allowing them to transact with each other directly.
“The USB form factor of our Blocklet Chip allows companies to plug into existing machines or devices through any connected USB port, and immediately begin securely transacting against a blockchain,” says Allison Clift-Jennings, CEO of Filament. “We’ve had significant interest from manufacturers and others that want to use the equipment they already have in blockchain trials but previously had no way to do that.”
The capability enables corporations to significantly accelerate blockchain proof of concept, pilot project, and production deployments, says the company. The device is ideal for blockchain use cases where companies with existing Industrial IoT devices require attestation of source data, chain of custody across supply chains, and provenance records for determining the origin and lifecycle history of goods.
The device’s distributed blockchain capabilities enable devices to independently process and record transactions, ensuring digital trust among existing machines, devices, and equipment. For more, see the Blocklet USB Device datasheet.
