Bluetooth LE Sensor Development Kit simplifies IoT Cloud connectivity
The kit is based on Dialog’s DA14585 SmartBond SoC and provides a small, low-powered and easy method of connecting sensors to the cloud.
SmartBond Multi-Sensor Kit can collect environmental data that includes temperature, pressure, humidity, gas concentrations, as well as motion, light, sound and magnetic field. The included software can be used to tailor the kit’s operation for different applications, allowing it to be used as a beacon, tag, wireless sensor or mesh node. Software upgrades can be performed remotely using the kit’s SUOTA (Software Upgrade Over The Air) functionality.
The Sensor Kit offers cloud support ranging from IFTTT for the creation of simple applets, to the creation of advanced workflows for data analytics from major platforms including Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure. The high-efficiency SmartBond Multi-Sensor Kit is powered by 2 AA batteries and has a range of up to 300 meters. Data collected by DA14585 can be processed locally by Dialog’s SmartFusion software to enable data transmission to a smartphone or Bluetooth LE-enabled Raspberry Pi gateway.
The Multi-Sensor Kit is supported by Dialog’s software suite, which includes application software running on the DA14585, cloud gateway software for the Raspberry Pi, web applications and mobile applications for Android and iOS.
