BMZ supplies batteries for 200 million euros to e-bus manufacturer
The delivery dates back to a purchase contract of November 2017; the delivery period will take two to three years, a BMZ spokesman announced. The battery systems have capacities of up to 790 kWh, with which the buses can travel up to 650 km without intermediate charging.
The lithium-ion batteries developed at the BMZ E.Volution Center in Germany are equipped with a special battery management system that enables the E-buses to continue operation even in the event of a partial battery failure. The cells for Eurabus’ e-buses are round cells with high energy density, which BMZ has produced in Japan on its own production lines.
The BMZ Group specialises in the development and manufacture of lithium-ion system solutions. The company is headquartered in Germany and has production facilities in China, Poland and the USA as well as branches in Japan and France. In addition, there are research and development sites worldwide.
