Bosch presents new drives for e-bikes
With a maximum torque of 65 Newton meters (speed: up to 75 Nm) and up to 300 or 340 percent support for the cyclist, the drive unit offers sufficient power for sporty riding even in mountainous terrain. The unit is designed in such a way that the pedaling resistance is hardly noticeable in off-mode and above 25 kmph; the eBike rides like a conventional bicycle. This is mainly due to the newly developed motor control, which ensures a dynamic and sensitive response of the drive unit with its multi-sensor concept.
The drive unit has a magnesium housing and is lightweight. Even the more powerful Speed version weighs only 2.9 kg, around 25 less than its predecessor.
An additional 12-volt connection allows third-party suppliers to supply their components with power from the eBike battery. The Drive Unit allows chainrings to be fitted using “Direct Mount” or 104 mm standard mounting. The Q-factor of 175 millimetres helps the eMountainbiker to achieve an ergonomically favourable sitting position and a natural pedalling feeling. So that eMTBs with short cranks can also transmit power optimally, there is a special setting that the specialist dealer can make using the diagnostic software.
