Since 1995, Bosch has designed and manufactured over 8 billion MEMS sensors; the company offers an extensive range of highly integrated sensor products to meet the requirements of IoT nodes for applications such as smart home and industry 4.0.

Arrow and Bosch Sensortec say that they will be pursuing opportunities for inertial, environmental and smart sensors in applications including wearables, smart home, building automation, industry 4.0, domestic robots, toys, augmented and virtual reality and drones. As multiple sensors are integrated into single devices and package sizes are shrunk to meet energy efficiency and space requirements, Bosch Sensortec’s sensor data fusion software helps to enable optimum application performance. The software separates static and dynamic acceleration, compensates for 3D tilt, eliminates magnetic distortion and identifies rest position for sensor calibration.

Arrow’s IoT portfolio includes a range of hardware components, development platforms and software tools linked together by services to deliver a broad IoT offering. The company’s Things Evolved solutions includes specifying hardware, carrying out system integration for IoT, implementing the cloud data platform, maintaining the network and product life cycle management for assets that have reached the end of their operational life.

Arrow has featured sensors from Bosch Sensortec on its recently-announced ARIS EDGE board, an ultra-low power wireless sensor node solution based on the Renesas Synergy hardware and software platform, designed to accelerate developers’ proof of concept and reduce time-to-market. ARIS EDGE hosts the Bosch BME280, an integrated environmental sensor that combines humidity, pressure and temperature measurement functions in a 2.5 x 2.5 mm package; and the BNO055, the first in a new family of Application Specific Sensor Nodes (ASSN) implementing an intelligent 9-axis Absolute Orientation Sensor, which includes sensors and sensor data fusion in a single package.

The recently released BME680 environmental sensor from Bosch Sensortec is also available for pre-ordering at Arrow. BME680 combines temperature, humidity, pressure and indoor air quality measurement in one package and is suited for the IoT.
