Bosch to provide infotainment system for Suzuki SX4
Besides the usual CD and MP3 player functionality, the Multimedia Compact system comprises USB and AUX inputs. The navigation system offers not only the fastest and shortest route to the destination on its 5" screen but also the most ecological route, i.e. the route with the probably best fuel economy. These recommendations are based on TMC traffic reports. The maps are also provided by Bosch. The system’s HMI is implemented as a rotary / push button or via touch screen.
The radio receiver is equipped with Bosch’s proprietary ADR2 chipset with integrated dual tuner module. While one tuner assumes the task of receiving the actual program, the other one keeps the station list current and processes the TMC messages for the dynamic navigation system.
Connected to the infotainment system via Bluetooth and A2DP audio streaming, smartphones can be used as audio source. In addition, the system offers hands free functionality.
The highly integrated, compact system combines multiple functions in a small package. Similar systems are in place in VW’s subcompact Polo vehicle as well as in Opel’s Corsa model.
