Deployed on a subscription basis, the tool provides a modelling environment optimized for wireless energy transfer over distance, allowing developers to stay focused on product creation and innovation without having to invest in development of their own simulation tools based on conventional modelling and mathematics packages.

WiCAD provides a library of commonly used WiTricity energy transfer designs as well as end-to-end simulation capabilities that help guide developers through the different steps needed to develop customized solutions based on WiTricity’s patented technology. The modelling and simulation process guides users through three main phases of development.

One is the resonator design where the source and device resonators must be designed to simulate power transfer, and calculate power transfer efficiency and levels.

At system design, the source and device electronics including impedance matching networks must be designed to match the resonators, simulating end-to-end power transfer, and calculating the associated performance data.

The fine tuning phase allows users to refine the model with laboratory measurements and optimize power transfer efficiency while factoring real world performance.
